The 12th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Tourism and wildlife Management being convened in Arusha, Tanzania
The 12th Meeting of the Sectoral Council of Ministers for Tourism and Wildlife Management, chaired by PS DR Caroline Karugu provided a platform for EAC Partner States to discuss strategies aimed at promoting the East African Community as a single tourism market whilst sustainably conserving the wildlife ecosystem.
Article 115 of the EAC Treaty on “Cooperation in Tourism & Wildlife Management” commits Partner States to develop a collective and coordinated approach to the promotion and marketing of quality tourism into and within the Community.
Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Mrs Rebecca Miano, accompanied by Principal Secretaries Hon. John Ololtuaa (Tourism) and Silvia Museiya (Wildlife), as well as Dr. Caroline Karugu (East African Community Affairs), were present amongst other technical staff.
