Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Beatrice Askul Moe received Ms Betty Ka, the new UN WFP Representative and Country Director as she begins her tour of duty in Kenya.
World Food Programme (WFP) plays a vital role in supporting food security and nutrition in Kenya's Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) by helping vulnerable populations withstand and recover from shocks like drought and food crises.
My Ministry has nurtured a cordial and an enduring relationship with WFP over the years as we jointly partner to advance food security, resilience and sustainable development in the ASAL counties.
I convey the commitment of the Government of Kenya in deepening this invaluable partnership even further to serve and uplift the lives of the ASALs people.
ASALs and Regional Development Principal Secretary Kello Harsama, Ambrose Lore (ASALs Ag. Secretary), James Lokwale (Technical Advisor), Dr. Monicah Kinuthia (Director of Strategic Programmes Development) and Felix Lone (WFP National Development Advisor) were present.
