A courtesy call by the newly appointed High Commissioner of Singapore Dr. Ernest Kan

Dr. Ernest Kan, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Singapore to Kenya, paid a courtesy call to the Cabinet Secretary for EAC Affairs, ASALs and Regional Development, Hon.Beatrice Askul Moe and the Principal Secretary for EAC Affairs, Dr. Caroline Karugu to explore the possibility of establishing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Singapore and the East African Community (EAC), aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations.

During the engagement, Dr. Kan also briefed the leadership on the upcoming Africa-Singapore Business Forum (ASBF) scheduled for August 2025, reaffirming Singapore’s commitment to strengthening economic collaboration with the region.
