CULTURAL FESTIVALS IN MOYALE
Cultural festivals promote harmony and peaceful co-existence of pastoral communities. Diverse customs, traditions, and lifestyles expressed through art, music, dance and food festivals build social cohesion, cultivate a sense of belonging and reduce ethnic tensions.
Our cabinent secretary Hon Beatrice Askul Moe and in the company of Principal Secretary of ASALs and Regional Development Kello Harsama, she graced the Nagayo-Maklacha Cultural and Food Festival, organized by the local communities at Butiye area of Moyale in Marsabit County.
They celebrated the region's rich cultural diversity through powerful traditional performances and a captivating array of cultural exhibitions by the Borana, Gabra, Burji, Sakuye, Gari, Somali, Rendille and Daasanach.
Area leaders, led by Marsabit Goveror H.E Mohamud M. Ali and County Commissioner, Mr. James Kamau, attended the event.
