EAC Leaders Meet in Kigali to Tackle Trade Barriers and Boost Regional Integration
In line with the directive of the 24th Summit of EAC Heads of State, a Multi-Sectoral High-Level Dialogue has convened in Kigali, Rwanda to address key challenges affecting regional trade. Over the next two days, EAC Ministers, senior officials, and private sector representatives will develop a coordinated, time-bound Joint Action Plan to eliminate non-tariff barriers (NTBs) that hinder cross-border trade. The discussions, hosted by Dr. Yusta Kayitesi and attended by officials including Amb. Alfred K’Ombudo, SG Veronica Nduva, and EABC Vice Chairperson Mr. Dennis Karera, aim to enhance efficiency, predictability, and ease of doing business across the East African Community.
