Juba Hosts Key Kenya–South Sudan Talks on Enhancing Economic Cooperation

Kenya and South Sudan continue to strengthen their cordial relations, built on shared history and a joint commitment to advancing regional integration for mutual benefit. During a high-level bilateral meeting of Ministers responsible for East African Community Affairs in Juba, convened in line with guidance from the East African Community Council of Ministers, both delegations reviewed eighteen priority issues affecting trade, investment, and cooperation. The discussions resulted in policy direction aimed at resolving these challenges. The South Sudan Delegation was led by Hon. Pieng Deng Kuol, Minister for East African Community Affairs and accompanied by Hon. Lt. Mangar Buong Aluenge, Deputy Minister of Interior, H.E Louis Lobong Lojore, Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Hon. Mary Hillary Wani Pitia, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of East African Community Affairs and Hon. Ustaz Yel Luol Koor, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. While the Kenya delegation, was led by Hon.Beatrice Askul Moe, Dr. Caroline Karugu, Principal Secretary for East African Community Affairs, Mr. Harsama Kello, Principal Secretary for Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Regional Development and Benedict Watamba, Chargé d'Affaires at the Kenya Embassy in South Sudan, including officials from relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Government of the Republic of Kenya.
