The official launch of 'creating shared value with young people in the livestock sector in Kenya's ASALs (CASHA) project'.

Women in Turkana continue to bear the brunt of socio-economic challenges, yet they remain resilient, resourceful and full of leadership potential.

The Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, ASALS and Regional Development, Hon Beatrice Askul Moe, had the great honor of meeting with Turkana grassroots women and opinion leaders on the sidelines of the launch of 'creating shared value with young people in the livestock sector in Kenya's ASALs (CASHA) project'.

Our discussions focused on the critical role of women in development and the pressing need for increased representation and participation of women in policy-making, programme implementation and leadership at both county and national levels.

The team expressed their appreciation of the broad-based government's effort in addressing inequalities in the development of ASAL areas, including advancing socio-economic empowerment of women, especially through initiatives being implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Ministry of Gender, Culture, The Arts, and Heritage.
