President Ruto Launches Key Development Projects in Turkana County

Cabinet Secretary Hon. Beatrice Askul Moe received H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto at Lodwar Airport as he commenced his official visit to Turkana County.

During his visit, the President commissioned the 3-kilometre tarmacking of Nakwamekwi Road in Lodwar Town and announced an additional allocation of funds for further road upgrades within the municipality.

At Turkana University, H.E. the President laid the foundation stone for a Students’ Hostel under the Affordable Housing Programme, aimed at improving student welfare and access to quality accommodation.

The President also announced plans to expand Lodwar Airport, including the extension of the runway, and the construction of a new sports stadium, underscoring the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and regional growth in Turkana County.
