RIC Retreat held in Mombasa

Dr. Caroline Karugu, Principal Secretary, State Department for East African Community, participated in the RIC Retreat held in Mombasa from 5th to 8th June 2025, alongside members of the National Assembly Committee on Regional Integration and key stakeholders from partner ministries.

The retreat provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on critical aspects of regional integration, including the implementation of EAC budgetary priorities, institutional reforms, and key cross-border programmes under the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC) and Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO).

Dr. Karugu reiterated Kenya’s commitment to the East African Community’s shared vision of sustainable development, good governance, and economic cooperation, and underscored the importance of collective responsibility in strengthening regional mechanisms that deliver impact for all partner states.
