Turkana West Residents Benefit from Youth and Women Empowerment Drive
Hon Beatrice Askul Moe led a youth and women economic empowerment drive that was held at Lokankae Primary School Grounds in Song’ot Ward, hosted by Epuyo Nanok. Leaders used the event to update residents on government drought and flood response efforts and urged greater unity among Turkana leaders to support development. Residents were also encouraged to participate in the Usajili Mashinani mass ID registration campaign, enroll with the Social Health Authority (SHA), and increase voter registration. Several leaders, including Hon James Lomenen Ekomwa, Hon. Emathe Namuar, Hon. Dr.Protus Akujah, Hon.Dr John Ariko Namoit, Hon Ekwom Nabuin, Turkana County Assembly Deputy Speaker and Hon. Gilbert Topos, MCAs, grassroots leaders and residents., attended the event, which ended with the distribution of emergency relief food to families affected by drought.
